The latest seasonal forecast system has just recently been made operational at ECMWF, denoted System-3. This system has increased resolution and climate ensemble size. Results from this system as well as the development strategy will be described. In many respects System 3 is a marked improvement over the earlier two systems, though progress in other aspects has been slow. Both the advances and limitations will be discussed. A monthly forecast system has also been developed building on the seasonal forecast system. This runs once per week. Some results from this system will be presented.
